  21. My most sincere condolences to the Hathcock family. I wish I had some words of comfort for you…This poem has brought comfort to my family. I hope it does the same for yours

    We little knew hat morning that God
    Was going to call your name.
    In life we loved you dearly,
    In death we do the same.
    It broke our hearts to lose you,
    You did not go alone;
    For part of us went with you,
    The day God called you home.

    You left us peaceful memories,
    Your love is still our guide;
    And though we can not see you,
    You are always at our side.

    Our family chain is broken,
    And nothing seems the same;
    But as God calls us one by one,
    The Chain will link again.

  22. My daughter dated Gannon for about 8 months. He was such a fun guy even during his fight and his worst days. That showed so much strength and character. Jaylee and Gannon shared sooo many laughs and I even got some texts and messages from him that made me laugh. He was a great kid and our hearts are very heavy! Chelle and McKenna…I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling but I can tell you how much he always talked about you and how much he loved you. Treasure and hold your memories of him tightly. He fought so hard. None of this was fair but look at how many lives he touched with his smile and his amazing strength….Gannon’s spirit will live on forever in so many people. Prayers and hugs. Jenny and Jaylee

  23. After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. Jan, Chelle, McKenna and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this very difficult time.

  24. Michelle, Jan and McKenna, I am deeply sorry to hear about your loss. It was truly an honor to be part of your walk through this disease. Gannon was truly a delight and joy to care for. Praying for peace and comfort for each of you as you face this extremely difficult reality.

  25. Chelle, words can not even begin to say how sorry I am to hear of Gannon’s passing. He was such a sweet kid. I remember when he played soccer in Butler and we’d sit around and cheer him on goal after goal! He was so full of life and has touch so many with the strength and inspiration he has shown thru this whole ordeal. Gannon will be missed and loved by all who came in contact with him and even who haven’t. We love you Chelle!

  26. We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Gannon. I’m Jan’s cousin, and had only met Gannon a few times. We had been following his journey on facebook, and loved seeing all his pictures. 27. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. I’m originally from Drexel, and only knew Gannon as a little boy. It breaks my heart that he had to leave this Earth so soon. I followed his journey on Facebook. He fought a long, difficult battle. I’m so, so sorry that it has ended this way. I hope all of you can take heart in knowing that he is up there waiting for you. 31. I knew Gannon through Janae’s deepest love for him. While my heart is breaking for your family, I am assured your son knew the kind of love we all ask for in our prayers.

  32. Jan and family: I am a childhood friend and classmate of Jan’s. When Gannon was diagnosed, I stayed in contact with Jan. My daughter has a rare genetic disorder and has spent a lot of time in the hospital. Jan and I would share stories and I would try to give him words of encouragement. I wish I had the words that would help during this difficult time, but none seem to come to me. It is so hard to see your child ill. We feel helpless. I cannot even imagine the pain you are going through and although I struggle with the right words to say at this time, please know that I am here…now…tomorrow…and the days ahead…when you may need the comfort of a friend…I am here…always.
