Kenny Wayne Gurley, 40 of Kansas City, Mo., passed away December 29, 2010 at his home.
Kenny was born May 30, 1970 in Clinton, Mo., son of Donna Sue (Weatherman) and Kenneth Dean Gurley. He attended Ballard grade school for a short time, and spent 10 years at Appleton City schools before moving back to the city. Kenny was a proud construction contractor in the siding and gutter industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and helping out with his father and grandfather on the family farm. Kenny had a deep belief in his faith, and was an active church member throughout his life. His family describes him as a loving and devoted father, son, and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold E. Gurley, Bill Weatherman, Robert and Geraldine Bowlin, and Marion Wisdom.
He is survived by his children: Melanie, Colton, De`Nee, and Christian of the home; fiancee Shawn Orr; and unborn child, Sarah Kynnedy Gurley. He is also survived by his parents, Donna Sue (Stan) Lancaster, and Kenneth (Judy) Gurley; grandmother Fern Gurley; Evelyn (Harry) Purdy; siblings, Lanny Gurley, Tricia (Steve) Jarboe, Bryan Gurley, Jeramie Gurley, and Christopher Gurley. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Visitation will be 11am-1pm Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler, (660) 679-0009, with a funeral service at 1pm. Burial will follow at Radford Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Kenny’s name are suggested to a fund for Kenny’s children.

Kenny and i grew up within a mile of each other, and was what i considered my best friend. We did all the things that boys of the pre-teen years do, hunting, fishing, riding his dads three wheeler that i could never ride without wrecking. But most of all just having fun with my firend.
